Konto & Abrechnung

Vollständiger Leitfaden zu Credits, Abonnements, Abrechnung und Kontoverwaltung

Step 1: Understanding Credits

Credits are the foundation of Protime. Every feature, from generating briefings to processing emails, uses credits. Let's understand how they work before exploring subscription options.

What Are Credits?

Credits measure the AI processing power used to analyze your emails and generate briefings.

Each action consumes credits based on content length and complexity:

  • • Basic briefing: 30-300 credits
  • • Standard briefing: 300-600 credits
  • • Complex briefing: Above 600 credits

How Credits Are Calculated

Credits are cost-normalized: each credit represents a consistent unit of AI cost, regardless of which model processes your content.

Your plan includes a monthly bundle of credits
You don't buy credits one by one. Go beyond your monthly credits and the extra ones are billed at CHF 0.027 each • Save 20% with annual billing

Heavier content (PDFs, research papers) uses more credits than simple emails or short newsletters.

Now that you understand credits, let's explore subscription options

Step 2: Choose Your Subscription

Based on your credit needs, select the subscription that fits your usage patterns

Starting out: your trial

New accounts begin with 1,000 credits, valid for 14 days, with no credit card required. Worth knowing before you subscribe: leftover trial credits are cleared when your first invoice is issued — your plan then starts you fresh with its own monthly credits, so the two don't stack.

Subscription Plans

Prices are anchored in Swiss francs. EUR, USD and GBP are converted from the CHF price at current exchange rates, so those amounts are approximate and can shift slightly.

How Team seats are counted

Team is billed per Protime seat at CHF 25 per seat, with a floor of five. That floor is real, so let's be plain about it: a two-person team still pays for five seats, CHF 125 per month. Checkout won't accept fewer than five.

The credit pool follows the seats you're billed for: 1,000 credits per seat, so 5,000 at the five-seat floor, growing by 1,000 for each seat you add. You don't pick the pool size separately — it's derived from your seats. The whole team draws from the same pool, so a quiet month for one person leaves more for everyone else.

Colleagues in your organisation who don't use Protime cost nothing.

Selected a plan? Let's understand what happens when you exceed your credits

Step 3: Understanding Overages

What happens when you use more credits than your monthly allocation? You're protected!

How Overages Work

  • 1.Use more than your monthly credits and Protime keeps working — the extra credits become an overage rather than a stop
  • 2.Extra credits are billed at CHF 0.027 each. Only credits you actually used are billed.
  • 3.Set your own cap: choose 20, 50, 100 or 200 — or enter your own amount. The default is 100.
  • 4.Overage charges are billed at the end of your billing cycle, and need a payment method on file

Overage Protection

Set Your Limit

Your limit caps what you can be billed for overages in a period — it's applied when your invoice is prepared at the end of the cycle. Think of it as a budget ceiling rather than a live switch that halts work the moment it's hit.

Get Notified

We email you once you reach 90% of your monthly credits, so the end of your allowance never arrives as a surprise.

No Surprises

You're always in control. Set your limit to 0 and overages are switched off entirely — you can never be billed beyond your plan.

Step 4: Earn Additional Credits

Share your Protime experience on social media and ask us for bonus credits

Social Media Rewards

This one runs on request rather than automatically: post about Protime, send us the link, and we'll thank you with bonus credits. There's no fixed rate — we look at each post individually and decide case by case, so treat it as a thank-you, not as a guaranteed part of your plan.

  • Post about Protime on LinkedIn or Instagram
  • Include #Protime and tag @protimeai
  • Share your genuine experience

Step 5: Monitor Your Usage

Track your credit consumption in real-time with detailed analytics

Daily Analytics

View hourly breakdown of credit usage with interactive charts showing consumption patterns

Usage Alert

We email you once you reach 90% of your monthly credits — one clear heads-up, not a stream of them

Trend Analysis

Compare usage across weeks and months to optimize your subscription plan

Pro Tip: Check your usage analytics weekly to understand your consumption patterns. This helps you choose the right subscription plan and set appropriate overage limits.

Step 6: Payment Setup & Management

Secure payment processing through Stripe with multiple currency support

Accepted Payment Methods

Credit Cards
VisaMastercardAmex
Debit Cards
Secure ProcessingStripe

Supported Currencies

CHF (₣) — base
EUR (€)
$USD ($)
£GBP (£)

Our prices are set in Swiss francs. EUR, USD and GBP are converted from the CHF price at current exchange rates and are therefore approximate. You're displayed and charged in the currency you select.

Monthly or Annual

You choose when you subscribe. Your subscription renews on the same date each month, or each year on annual billing — which costs 20% less.

Plan Changes

Change your plan and it takes effect immediately. The difference is prorated for the rest of your period and invoiced right away — not at your next billing date.

Flexible Cancellation

Cancel anytime without penalty. Your subscription ends when the period you already paid for runs out, and you keep full access until then — so there's nothing to refund.

Step 7: Manage Your Subscription & Invoices

Your subscription, cards and invoices all live in one place — the secure Stripe customer portal

How to get there

Go to Settings > Subscription in Protime and click “Manage Subscription”. If you administer a Team organisation, the same button is under Settings > Organisation. The portal opens on a fresh, personal link each time, so there's no permanent address to bookmark — always start from Protime.

Invoice History

Every past invoice, downloadable as a PDF for your accounting

Payment Methods

Add, update or remove your cards — Stripe holds the details, we never see them

Cancellation

Cancel yourself, whenever you want — access runs to the end of the period you paid for

Usage Details

Daily breakdown of credit consumption — this one lives in Protime, under Settings > Credits & Usage

Anything else

A charge that looks wrong, or a question the portal doesn't answer? Email us and we'll look into it.

Step 8: Manage Your Account

Configure your profile settings and security preferences

Profile Information

  • Update display name
  • Upload profile picture
  • View email address
  • Check subscription status

Security & Access

  • Manage linked accounts
  • Connect Google account
  • Connect LinkedIn account
