Briefings & Discovery

Protime Briefings & Smart Discovery

Define your topics, let AI find the best sources, and receive briefings on your schedule.

Start Your Journey

There are three ways to set up a Protime Briefing with Smart Discovery. Each one leads to the same result: AI finds the best sources for your topics and delivers briefings on your schedule.

From the homepage

Enter any topic on the Protime homepage. You get an instant preview briefing, and from there you can sign up and let Smart Discovery find ongoing sources for that topic.

Change or set up a topic

In your briefing settings, add or edit a topic. Smart Discovery automatically runs whenever you update your topics, finding new newsletters, RSS feeds, and web sources that match.

Briefing wizard with Protime Briefing

Use the briefing creation wizard and choose "Protime Briefing". Walk through the setup steps, define your topics, and Smart Discovery kicks in to populate your sources.

How It Works

When you create a briefing in Protime, you define topics you want to track. Smart Discovery takes those topics and automatically finds relevant content sources across the web. No manual searching or subscribing required.

1

Define your topics

Tell Protime what you want to track. For example: "AI in Healthcare", "Swiss Startup Ecosystem", or "Product Management Trends".

2

AI discovers sources

Protime searches for newsletters, RSS feeds, and web content matching your topics. It evaluates quality, relevance, and frequency before subscribing.

3

Content flows to your inbox

Discovered sources deliver content to your Protime Inbox. Each briefing summarizes everything into a short, actionable digest.

4

Continuous refinement

Discovery runs periodically. As new sources appear or your topics evolve, Protime adapts and finds fresh content.

What Gets Discovered

Protime searches across three content source types to give you comprehensive coverage.

Newsletter Discovery

AI searches for high-quality newsletters relevant to your topics and subscribes your Protime Inbox automatically.

Protime evaluates newsletters by relevance, publishing frequency, and content quality before subscribing.

RSS Feed Discovery

Finds and subscribes to RSS feeds from blogs, news sites, and industry publications matching your interests.

AI identifies authoritative sources and validates that feeds are active and regularly updated.

Google Search Discovery

Sets up automated Google searches that continuously find new content related to your topics.

Smart queries are generated from your topic definitions and refined over time based on results.

Writing Effective Topics

The quality of discovery depends on how you define your topics. Here are best practices.

Be specific, not generic

Good: "AI applications in radiology and medical imaging"
×Too broad: "AI"

Include context and scope

Good: "Swiss fintech startups, funding rounds, and regulatory changes"
×Vague: "Finance news"

One theme per topic

Create separate topics for different interests rather than combining them. This helps the AI find more targeted sources and keeps your briefings focused.

Managing Sources

You have full control over what Protime discovers and uses.

  • Review sources in your briefing settings to see what was discovered
  • Remove sources you do not find valuable
  • Add manually by forwarding emails or subscribing with your Protime Inbox
  • Re-run discovery any time to find new sources as your topics evolve

Frequently Asked Questions

Does discovery cost credits?

Discovery uses a small amount of credits for AI processing. The main credit usage comes from generating your briefings, not from discovering sources.

How often does discovery run?

Discovery runs when you first create a briefing and periodically afterward to find new sources. You can also trigger it manually from your briefing settings.

Can I use discovery with Gmail briefings?

Smart Discovery is designed for Protime Briefings (topic-based). Gmail Briefings summarize your existing inbox and do not need source discovery.

What if discovery finds irrelevant sources?

You can remove any source from your briefing settings. Over time, refining your topic definitions leads to better discovery results.
