The Swiss commercial register, right inside your AI assistant
Companies, corporate officers, bankruptcies and calls to creditors — from the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce. You talk to the commercial register in a chat; every answer carries the publication date and a reference to the source.
Free, no sign-up: one company, its publications back to 2002, each with the official PDF.
What Zefix does not show — and your AI chat alone cannot do
History, not a snapshot
Zefix shows today's register state. Here you see what changed and when — entries, exits, seat moves, capital changes, back to 2002.
Deleted companies too
Once a company drops out of the register, Zefix stops showing it. Here its publications remain, the deletion included — with the date and the official PDF.
Across companies
Which mandates does an officer hold? Who else signs for this company? Questions that run across the register — beyond the reach of a chat with web search.
Complete, not googled
An AI chat finds articles and snippets on the web, but never the complete list. Here it counts the official journal: every bankruptcy opening in a canton, every new registration in a sector — with filing deadlines.
Building publications too
Alongside the commercial register we read the cantonal building publications: who is building where, with the developer and the objection deadline. Currently 13 cantons — AR, BE, BL, BS, NW, OW, SH, SO, SZ, TI, VS, ZG, ZH.
Sourced, not asserted
Without register access, a language model will occasionally invent officers or dates. Here every answer carries the publication number and the official PDF.
What a conversation looks like
Invented companies and people — the structure matches a real answer: event, date, signing authority, source.
Is Muster Bau AG in Bern still active, and who signs for it?
The company is registered and not in liquidation. Based on the publications, two signatories are active.
Register questions — and combinations with what your assistant can do anyway: web search, comparing, summarising.
Is Muster Bau AG still active — and who signs there?
All bankruptcy openings in the canton of Berne in the last 30 days, with filing deadlines.
Which mandates does A. Musterlin hold — and where did he leave?
Who joined or left Beispiel Immobilien AG since 2020?
What changed at CHE-102.674.664 since January?
Which new construction companies were founded this month?
This quarter's biggest capital increases — who is behind them?
Check my new supplier: register facts plus what the web says about them.
Who is behind this company — and what does the web say about the person?
Connect it to your assistant
Access runs over MCP, the open standard for tools in AI assistants. In your assistant's settings you add our address once and sign in with your Protime account — from then on it can use the register in every conversation.
Address
https://mcp.protime.ai/mcp
Claude
Settings → Connectors → add a custom connector. Enter the address and sign in with your Protime account — no key to copy.
ChatGPT
Settings → Connectors → create your own connector. Same address, same sign-in.
Gemini
Add it through the extensions manager as an HTTP MCP tool.
Open clients
Cline, Continue, Zed, LibreChat and any other MCP-capable client: transport “http”, enter the address; the sign-in step runs through your browser.
No API key to copy: you sign in once with your Protime account, and the register is available in every conversation from then on.
Fair use 3,000 companies or people checked per month — follow-up questions do not count separately. The limit guards against systematic extraction, not against your work. Documentation rather than support.
More than the register? Inbox, partner radar and news together — CHF 25 a month or CHF 240 a year. See the full product →

What we do not promise
Bankruptcies only from September 2018
Commercial-register events — new registrations, mutations, deletions — reach back to 2002, some 156,000 publications in 2002 alone. Bankruptcies and calls to creditors only from September 2018: the predecessor archive carried the register rubrics only. Everything is updated daily; we keep extending the archive towards 1980.
Not an official register extract
The information is taken verbatim from the official publications and is not enriched from other sources. Only the register entry is authoritative; obtain an official extract before legally significant decisions.
Building applications from 13 cantons only
Building publications are available for AR, BE, BL, BS, NW, OW, SH, SO, SZ, TI, VS, ZG and ZH. The remaining cantons do not publish their building applications in a form that can be read daily — you will find nothing there, even where an application is pending.
No balance sheets, no debt-collection extract
Swiss companies generally do not publish their annual accounts, and a debt-collection register extract comes from the Betreibungsamt against proof of legitimate interest. Neither appears in the official gazette — so neither appears here.
No credit scoring
We assign no scores and no traffic lights. You see the published events and form your own judgement.
Purpose-bound
Access serves to check your own existing or prospective business relationships and to meet your own due-diligence obligations. Combining personal data into profiles is prohibited.
